How To Apply For Fellowship Hosting Lab

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​APHL-CDC Fellowship Programs LogoAPHL and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) partner to offer a variety of laboratory fellowship programs to train and prepare scientists for careers in public health laboratories and support public health initiatives. As a recipient of American Rescue Plan funding, APHL is expanding its current fellowship program offerings and recruiting for two classes of fellows in 2022—​with​ ​assignments beginning in January 2022 and Summer 2022—​and adding a new Internship Initiative​, which​ will begin assignments in Summer 2022.

About the APHL-CDC Fellowship and Internship Programs

Fellowship Programs

​APHL's experiential fellowship programs offer a ​​competency-based core curriculum, while allowing fellows to gain a depth of understanding about a particular focus area. Fellowship terms are one year, with a possible extension for a second year, depending on the fellowship and funding availability.​​​

Internship Initiative

A new, national internship program for eligible undergraduate students and recent graduates will begin in 2022.

Applications for prospective interns and host laboratories will be available in January 2022 for positions starting in June 2022.
